Job Description
The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist's role is to design, implement and support BI software and systems that provide timely, accurate, and meaningful enterprise data to key consumers and decision makers in the company so they can effectively analyze business patterns and trends and make informed decisions.
Skills Required
|
BS in Computer Science or BA with equivalent technical competency.
|
|
Minimum of 4 to 6 years proven BI experience developing BI systems, building models and reporting infrastructure. |
|
Must have direct client interaction, good communication and excellent analytical and technical skills, and be skilled at using MS Office Professional, MS Project and Visio.
|
|
Knowledge of SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, relational database and data warehouse methodologies is essential.
|
|
Must demonstrate knowledge of resilient database implementations (clusters, mirrors, replicas).
|
|
Must have minimum two (2) years experience with Cognos tools such as Framework Manager, Transformer, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, etc. |
|
Able to focus on complex issues within a busy environment and pay close attention to details.
|
|
Cognos Impromptu and PowerPlay experience preferred.
|
|
Demonstrated ability with ETL Tools and strong ability to analyze user requirements and build back end BI applications according to specifications.
