Job Description
Responsible for the San Francisco and East Bay regions internal and external recovery when erroneous payments are issued due to the change in the Division of Financial Responsibility (DOFR) with health plans or overpayments with claims, capitation, eligible members and/or coordination of benefits (COB) payments to providers. This position validates reimbursement requests from Medicare and health plans to resolution. This position is responsible for various health plans contractual back end billings, collections and reconciliation. This position is responsible for auditing and reporting all transactions relating to San Francisco Health Plan and Healthy San Francisco, i.e. monthly cap, billing and collections, membership reconciliation.
Skills Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program or relative career experience. Course work or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, business and health care required. Five (5) years experience in a healthcare industry or billing and/or medical claims auditor environment required. Knowledge of managed care industry and healthcare billing practices. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. PC Proficiency using Databases Excel, Word and Access required. Ability to interpret complex contractual language for recovery purposes. 10 key by touch. Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relations. Knowledge in general accounting or bookkeeping.
