The Wellness Program at Brown & Toland was developed to improve our members' understanding of health and wellness as a lifelong process, and to increase self-management of symptoms through prevention education and behavior modification.
The Wellness Program coordinates health education programs and resources to meet the needs of our members. Throughout the year, physicians, nurses, health educators, and other clinicians conduct classes and programs on a variety of health topics, including asthma, HIV, diabetes management, osteoporosis, senior nutrition, and prenatal education. Classes are offered through our partner hospitals: California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), St. Mary's Medical Center, and Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, in addition to community-based organizations.
Brown & Toland's consumer magazine,
HealthLink, is packed with information about healthy living for all ages. HealthLink is available online and sent to Brown & Toland members throughout the year.
Inside, you'll find tips on staying fit and eating right as well as a listing of resources, classes, seminars and support groups.
