Who we are...Brown & Toland Medical Group (Brown & Toland) is a comprehensive, multi-specialty, clinically integrated independent practice association (IPA) serving the residents of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Our board-certified physicians practice in offices throughout San Francisco and at the prestigious University of California - San Francisco.
Brown & Toland is known as a pioneer in providing high-quality care and effective management of patient and physician services, including medical management, credentialing, utilization management, and quality improvement.
The relationship between the physician and patient is an important one and we believe that providing education on our physicians, network hospitals and medical services can add value for the health care consumer. We work with the health plans to provide screenings and education about our physicians and programs at open enrollments and benefit fairs.

We can help you!There are several ways we can participate and add value to your event
- Education on our disease management and care management programs. Nurse case managers may be available to speak to members directly on the following programs:
- Asthma / COPD Management
- Diabetes Management
- HIV Management / HIV Clinical Specialist
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Management Program
- Wellness Program
- Case Management
- Care Level Management: Physician Home Visiting Program
- Health screenings:
- Brown & Toland partners may be able to provide health screenings such as high blood pressure, osteoperosis, fall risk assessments and others. Brown & Toland provides these services directly through our health care partners who are covered entities under HIPAA.
- For some employers we have created an interactive activity that identifies people who are at risk for cardiovascular diseases. Hip to waist ratios are measured to determine body type - - Apples (high risk) or Pears (lower risk) and fruit is provided for participants. This activity has been well-received by our employers
- Presentations by physicians and/or other health care providers.
- We have held physician seminars on a variety of topics including spinal health, common eye diseases in an aging population etc. We have physicians who could give a 20 minute talk in the form of a break-out session that would be held simultaneously to the overall fair.
